Hi I’m Laura and I’m a 5th year medical student. I am your society's 💫President💫 for this year!❤️
I have danced since I was three years old (eek that makes 20 years) in Highland, Scottish National, Tap, Modern, Freestyle and Acro-gymnastics. I have competed in Highland and Scottish National since I was six years old, competing in Championships all over the country including the Cowal World Championships. I had the pleasure of being my dance teacher's apprentice for five years at the Wallace School of Dance and fell in love with teaching and choreographing. I learnt a great deal from my teacher in both dance and running a dance school, lessons that I value and have been able to use in my position as Secretary and Competition Secretary last year.
I have had the most amazing time being a tutor for 4 years and part of the competition team, competing with the most amazing people in Manchester, St Andrews, Leeds and Dundee. This included choreographing for the 2021/2022 Competition Highland team who placed 1st in their section in St Andrews!
Dance has opened so many doors for me, provided so many crazy opportunities and helped her make some of the most amazing friends, so I am extremely happy to be a part of the society again, working with all our amazing committee members and tutors, and hopefully help provide all those amazing opportunities to others along the way🤍
